We’re told all the time by the real experts that we should provide value before we can expect to make money online. Here’s a fine example: Jango.
Whilst searching for lyrics to a Bob Dylan song, I stumbled on the site Jango.com. Within minutes I had signed up, added a picture, filled in some profile detail, and I’m still enjoying the content, as I’m writing this.
What do they offer? Free music, in the form of your own customizable “radio station” – essentially a playlist of music from artists and bands you had selected and music from similar artists. As far as social networking goes, it’s brilliant! How much easier does it get to brand yourself online than with music?
What about the bottomline for Jango? They get to sell the songs you and others are listening to on your “station” through Amazon. They also have other banner advertising for online games and so forth. They make money; you get to have others listening to tunes you like (or simply listen to your own favorites all night long).
If they were actually selling something, this would have been my review post, and the link beneath this post my affiliate link. Instead, I’m promoting their site for the most sincere of reasons: they provide ME with value.
